It's no joke that 2025 was a treacherous year for me and my family.
But it was also a fantastic year business wise for my author career.
Febuary - i released the final book in the Summervale / Darcie Ryder world, Til Death.
In April i not only travelled to New Zealand for my first international signing, but released The Light Bringer.
May - i had two signings, Central Coast Comiccon and BABE.
I also moved house in May to our brand new build! (Oh my god my poor body during this period. i was totally wrecked after 2 signings, cleaning to move, and then the actual move. I think i damaged something in my shoulder)
June - I travelled to Brisbane for Celestial Brisbane signing and Ball. It was absolitely magical. I had my highest earnings ever at a signing!
July - i released the Darcie Ryder Mysteries Omnibus
August - i released The Wyvern Prince
September - I signed at the first Books and Beyond event.
Sep, Oct and Nov were a blur because i was furiously trying to finish The Soul Bond on a deadline.
November - The Soul Bond was released!
I also released the omnibus of the Riverside Oak Mysteries series.
On top of the book releases and signings and author stuff, personally, we had a few health scares, with my Dad being diagnosed with prostate cancer and having treatment, Heidi my beloved pup, my fur baby, having health problems (she's an old lady now at 13.5 years. so i don't know how much longer we're gonna have her for), plus my Godfather being dianosed with cancer and not given much longer to live. Thankfully he's still with us, but we don't know how much longer. So we're thankful for each day.
This is not even counting stresses of world events, but i think 2025 is one that has made me physically and mentally tired.
I'm burnt out. I'm tired. i'm really really tired.
In 2026 i'm making it easier on myself and only releasing 3 maybe 4 books, but giving myself a lot more space and grace and bandwidth to write them.
I'm still on my writing sabbatical until mid to late january, but the admin tasks don't stop.
Hope you all have a wonderful christmas / holiday period and new year, and i'll talk to you soon x
