Ages of Pages - Post Event Wrap Up

Good morning from my desk on this rainy day. I'm sipping coffee while catching up on work that has piled up while i've been travelling in New Zealand. I've just about caught up on sleep (i think).

Boy, oh boy, where do i start when talking about Ages of Pages?

I have soo many feelings!

Firstly, this was my first Ages of Pages, and first international signing for this aussie author which was equal parts nervous and excited about. I brought my assistant and support worker Michelle with me on the trip to do the driving (Because i can't drive because of my low vision. If you didn't know, i'm also on the autism spectrum). I'm so glad i brought Michelle on the trip, because was a FANTASTIC assistant!

Our table was so BUSY from the time the event opened at 9.30 and was we were NON-STOP serving customers and talking for about an hour and a half!

I'm seriously so blown away by how enthusiastic and excited kiwi readers area, and can't believe how many people wanted to meet lil ol' me.

I also made record sales. Way more than i expected.

This felt like a bucket list moment, like i've finally made it as an author, you know? i get a teary thinking about it.

I was going to attend the event last year but life happened, so i was thrilled to be able to make it this year. AND let me tell you the stern talking to i got from some of my readers when i didn't attend haha (looking at you Mrs Moa and Paige haha). They were so excited i was attending.

I got to hug my kiwi readers and take photos with them.

I also got to meet some authors in person whom i've been chatting to online for years! Like Johanna M Rae, who was one of the organisers of Ages of Pages, authors Lee Murray and Terri Lee Osborn too. Make sure you check out all my pics on my socials, but i'll add some below.

If you're thinking of signing up to attend Ages of Pages in Hamilton New Zealand, i highly recommend it! it's a well run event and kiwi readers are INSANE and so happy (insane in a good way.)

I had the best time and i cannot wait to be back sometime in the future.
